Château DassaultGrand Cru ClasséThis Grand Cru owes its existence to a great engineer, Marcel Dassault. He purchased Château Couperie in 1955 “on the spur of the moment” as he liked to say. Château Couperie was created ibn 1862 by Victor Beylot. Re-baptised Château Dassault, and with improved equipment, the quality of the wine improved year-on-year until, in 1969, it became a Grand Cru Classé, a classification which was confirmed in 2006. The property was extended in 2002 with the acquisition of La Fleur Grand Cru Saint-Emilion, with 6.5 hectares of vines. Today, Laurent Dassault, seconded by Laurence Brun, administer the property and its wines, striving constantly to further improve the vintage. Laurent Dassault likes to welcome wine connoiseurs to the château and for several years has hosted a “Luncheon on the grass”, an unmissable event for the friends of Château Dassault. |
